Teams at Lounge Café Bars across England and Wales have raised over £32,500 for 93 local charities as part of the Company’s annual fundraising initiative, LoungeAid.
In May and June, Lounge teams were challenged to support a local charity that meant a lot to them and their community, through fundraising and awareness-raising endeavours.
Dorado Lounge in Warrington raised an impressive £3,222 for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity through team hikes up Snowdon and in the Lake District, a secret book sale, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
Torello Lounge in Prestatyn raised over £2,000 for Awyr Las, a local cancer charity, through themed quizzes, a raffle, and taking part in Total Warrior Leeds. A group of five ‘Torello Titans’ took on the gruelling challenge, which is dubbed ‘the Great Northern Mud Run’.
Other big fundraisers were Vito Lounge in Fareham, which raised £1,335 for The Friday Night Charity through a range of initiatives including a charity head shave and leg wax, and Tappeto Lounge in Kidderminster, which raised £1,000 for the Worcestershire Deaf Children’s Society, alongside using the opportunity to teach the team some British Sign Language.
To show its recognition to the teams for their important work, Loungers has donated an additional £1,000 to the charities of 25 Lounges that went above and beyond in their charity support efforts, taking the final LoungeAid total for 2022 up to £57,500.
