Lounge café/bars across the UK are celebrating the completion of yet another successful LoungeAid month, raising much needed funds for local charities.
A highlight in Loungers’ community calendar, the June fundraising initiative involves Lounges across the UK and has, this year, raised a whopping £158,839 collectively.
Lounges have always connected and supported their local communities by encouraging teams to do it their way. From using their spaces to bring people and community groups together for events, to giving away products in random acts of kindness and raising money for causes which are close to teams’ hearts.
Examples of fundraising activity across the Loungers’ estate included hosting a Build a Burger Day, car wash, a General Manager climbing Snowden and making a cocktail at the summit, children fun days, gunge the boss, sponsored bike rides, family fetes, sponsored walks and bungee jumps, flash mobs and charity football matches.
Gemma Irwin, Head of Community, The Lounges, says: “This year’s LoungeAid has been the best ever! We’re absolutely delighted to have raised such an amazing amount of money to support charities and causes in the communities we serve.
We encourage our Lounges to raise money and support good causes, all year round. We choose to support local, rather than national, charities because we want to help tackle the issues which are important to the neighbourhoods where we trade.”
LoungeAid, established in 2015. Is Loungers’ largest charity event uniting all teams across the UK in a month-long fund-raising initiative to make a real impact. Over £438,352 has been raised to date.
